Notes on individual tools
- VEED: Five of VEED's six criteria are unverified (output quality, ease of use, free tier, fit, update pace); its total is a floor, not a measured score.
- Kapwing price note: The pricing page prints no billing period next to the $16 shown in its default Annual view, only "1,000 credits / month" and the Annual toggle. The Monthly view shows $24 for the same plan and limit.
- Synthesia price note: Open item: one earlier check reported a "Start Starter - $29/mo" button. The 2026-10-16 live check found no such button in either billing view (Starter shows $19 monthly, $14 per month billed yearly). Not confirmed either way.
Why the checked scores are what they are
- Free tier is scored 3 only where a vendor page states a free plan or trial and also states a watermark or a small cap on length or credits. No tool's pages say its free exports have no watermark, so none scores 5.
- Price and value is scored from the published price and limit on each tool's pricing page, using the page's default billing view. 10 of 10 tools score on that basis. A price-per-minute comparison is not applied yet because most pages do not publish minutes, so none scores 5. Prices are still being re-verified.
- Update pace: 3 of 10 tools show two or more dated entries in the 90 days before the check, 2 show a dated entry in the last 6 months, and 5 have no dated product entry on a page we could read. Where a page gives only a month and year, the score uses that month.
- Output quality, Ease of use and Fit: 15 of 30 of these scores are checked against a source page. The rest wait for help center, product or terms pages we have not read yet.
